Extended parhelia flank a late afternoon sun at Iowa Public Television in Des Moines. Imaged 20th Dec 2000 by sky phenomena and astrophotographer Stan Richard. The tall parhelia indicate tell of plate crystals with large tilts. The plate crystals also produced the parhelic circle and later on a tall sun pillar ©Stan Richard, reproduced with permission.
